Abstract: | This Master’s Thesis is enrolled in the research line entitled Training and action of the teaching professional and educational practices”, of the Postgraduate Program in Education at the University of Western São Paulo, due to reflections on the learning process of university students in a Law Course, which originated several inquiries on the contribution of collaborative media production in the construction of legal knowledge for these students. Trying to give a best solution to this issue, we defined as the general objective of the research to investigate and analyze the potentialities, challenges and limitations of knowledge production in subjects of a Law Course through the collaborative production of media. In order to reach this goal, we listed the following specific steps: to identify and analyze how and what media students use in their daily lives and in relevant activities to the Law Course; investigate the students' perceptions and their learning expectations about the production of knowledge through the production of media; identify and analyze which media and the way they can be used in the teaching and learning process by students in Law Courses; analyze the media produced by students and the possible contribution to learning within the scope of the Law Course subjects; investigate the cycle of interactions experienced by the student, when producing media, within the scope of undergraduate courses in Law. We chose a qualitative approach with a descriptive-explanatory design. The participants of this research were 41 students of the third year in a Law Course at a University Centre in a small town located in the countryside of the state of São Paulo. We used as data collection procedures: document analysis, quizzes observation, analysis of students' production and interviews. The data were analyzed using content analysis and triangulation. We concluded that the production of media, in the context of legal contents implied in the improvement of the teaching and learning process of the students, as it demanded from them an active positioning, critical and reflective with the content covered, making use of a language used by them in their daily lives. The media production process took place cooperatively, with the division of tasks and discussions between all the members of each team. The construction of legal knowledge through the production of media proved to be a viable alternative to the traditionalilsm in legal education in Brazil. As limiting aspects, we noticed the lack of skills of the students in the ambit of Media-Education, on technical practice for the use of appropriate technological tools, the difficulty to work in group and the indication of more than one legal subject at once for the development of the intervention, and the students' disinterest in part of the media produces, where humorous and / or artistic language were not used. |
