Trabalhadores-estudantes: um olhar para o contexto da relação entre trabalho e ensino superior noturno

Abstract

To present research it investigates the current context of the relationships between work and night higher education, trying to identify as it locates the worker-student in this context. The theoretical option for analysis of the relationships between study and work inside the capitalist society is centered in the Critical Theory of the Education and in the Historical Materialism Dialectic. For the collect of data it uses the bibliographical research and an exploratory study with concrete subjects. In what it refers to the context of the relationships between work and night higher education, verifies that in the current capitalist system the work is becoming precarious and the working class is subdividing at the same time in that it is demanded a more flexible and wider formation from the worker and the Brazilian higher education obeys 'the international orientations, allowing its largest part to be conducted by the private initiative. As for the worker-student's situation in the investigated context, it verified that when this student wants to study, it is taken to search for the teaching pay and for this subject it is the work that fastens the limits of the study, the higher education is looked for by the worker-student as form of social and financial ascension, accomplishment and valorization the choices of the institution and of the course are limited by the mechanisms of control presents in the society and the superior study is a way of ascending to the category better positioned of the working class. It concludes identifying that the world of the work presents for the worker, new exploration forms, the individualization and the demand of larger qualification, doing with that the higher education increases the chances of occupying better places in the subdivision of the working class. The Brazilian higher education continues discriminatory and the search of the teaching, more and more, identifies with the fight for the citizenship.
